Review // Julep June Boho Glam Box + Promo Code

It's been a while since I've gotten a Julep Maven box. The past few months, I haven't been in love with the selections. June's options were metallic and shiny, so I opted for the Boho Glam box.

Here's what came with it:
❖ Julep Nail Laquer in Natalia
❖ Julep Nail Laquer in Harlow
❖ Julep Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat
❖ 3 purple pixie sticks

Okay, more candy. I got candy in my last box. Granted, I liked the pixie sticks more than March's, but I could probably walk ten feet out of my apartment and buy pixie sticks any time. Eh.

Onto the polishes. I really liked the theme of this month's selections. Everything is really sparkly and some are slightly iridescent.

Natalia — This is described as a refined copper metallic. I really love it, but the shade the slightly more red than I expected. I have some other polishes that are more of a true copper, so that's no worry. Natalia is really sparkly and went on well in two coats. [similar or subscribe to Julep Maven]

Harlow — Harlow is described as "golden dragonfly iridescent chrome." This color is mermaid-like goldish-greenish. It's a much better iridescent than the similar Revlon color I have tried in the past! My only qualm with it is that it dries with a little bit of texture. [similar or subscribe to Julep Maven]

Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat — Since I normally don't wear my natural nails, I don't have a lot of use for this product. I tried it on my nails and the texture is awesome — however I'm not convinced it did a lot for applying polish to my natural nails. I did discover that it was a good base coat on faux nails for the Harlow polish, requiring fewer coats to get nice coverage. [similar or subscribe to Julep Maven]

I'm neither in love nor disappointed with my box this month. I wish I would have been able to choose something other than the Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat. Julep has started offering (for an additional charge) the ability to customize boxes and switch items out. I think this is a cool concept for new subscribers who are unable to skip months, but given that I can skip at anytime, I haven chosen to not pay the extra.

A fun month of colors with lots of sparkles!
Really quick shipping this month.
In my last review, I was disappointed that the lipgloss container that broke. I emailed their customer service and they gave me the option of having it replaced or taking Julep points. I opted for the points to put towards a future box. Their customer service was quick and helpful!

Still wishing they would let new subscribers skip a month! They keep introducing new services and products, but I think it would be great if they would go back to the old set-up.
