I'm more excited about this dress and hair combo than I've been about my outfits in a while. I've been waiting patiently for my hair to get long enough to try some sort of mini-beehive undo and when I woke up from a spur-of-the-moment after-work nap, I started braiding. I made a nice thick braid just above my bangs and then pulled the rest of my hair up by sections, teasing and making a small beehive. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

The lace on this dress circles the entire neckline, making it almost like a cape. Perfectly romantic, wouldn't you say? I really do love this detail quite a bit. Oh, and the dress is for sale in my Etsy Shop!

Another favorite detail of mine is the pink lining!
This morning was rather crazy, though. I work at 7am almost every morning now and as I was getting ready, our power started flickering and finally went out around 6:20am. I had to "do my makeup" by the light of my iPhone (read: I wore very little makeup to work today). On our way to work, we noticed that only our block was out. Not sure what the deal was, and not the end of the world, but it was just very inconvenient!

It was another hot one today, hitting almost 100°. Come on, midwest! It's September! I'm ready for a light jacket and reddish orange leaves. I can't wait for pumpkin-flavored everything, the Renaissance Festival, and all of the other goodies that come with autumn. This weekend we're going to try and make it to the Sweet Corn Festival, but it's all really going to depend on the heat!
